Freedom

It's hard to believe it's been almost a month since I was out blogsurfing.

Well, I've been busy. Blogging takes time. It takes time to write something then it takes time to go and visit other people's blogs.

The people you meet blogsurfing are friends or at least they can be. The people I've interacted with are pretty nice. I'm sure there's jerks out there too.

Although you can't see them and talk to them you still interact with them. It's a relationship.

It's a relationship where I guess you got to try not to have expectations. If you expect people to do something and they don't do it, or the other way around, you get disappointed. There's a certain degree of freedom that you've got to allow other people like the freedom to blog or not blog, to visit your blog or not.

Why am I saying this?

In part I guess I'm saying this because I feel a little guilty about jumping into the blog world and having everyone be so nice to me and stop in and say hi and everything, then it has taken me a month to get back to everyone. So, I feel like I'm letting new friends down in a way. I'm hoping people won't be upset with me.

But I'm also thinking about the times that I got upset with someone not because they did something wrong but just because they didn't do what I hoped or wanted or expected them to do. And I feel a little bad about that.

Some of what I've been doing this past month is checking my bible out a little. It reminds me there's something called the Golden Rule, basically it means treating people the way you would like them to treat you. Part of that is letting people have their freedom, letting them have their "space" and I guess I feel bad about all the times I didn't let people have their space and now I've wanted people to let me have mine.

Anyway I'm going out blogsurfing again and say "hi" to everyone. If I'm not here when you stop in I hope you'll understand. :) But please make yourself at home. :)

Driving in the Sun

Hot!
Here we go again
Cold!
I don't want to know again
Gone!
Why did you leave me here alone?

Here!
Now you're gone again
There!
Here you come again
Please!
I just want to be unknown

Driving in the sun
(Don't know where to go)
Driving in the sun
(Don't know what to do)
Driving in the sun
(Forgetting what I know)
Driving in the sun
(Forgetting about you)

Up!
Now I fall again
Down!
Can I get up again?
No!
Can't I make it on my own?

Good!
It's ahead of me when
Bad!
Was left behind me then
Now!
It's better I have flown

Driving in the sun
(Don't care where I go)
Driving in the sun
(Don't care what I do)
Driving in the sun
(Learning, now I know)
Driving in the sun
(Better without you)

btw I wrote this one last night
and I'll be writing some more
I'll tell you if it's not my work... ;)

Blogsurfing

I just started blogging.

A couple of weeks ago I discovered blogs. Okay, I live in a cave.

After looking around a bit I decided to open an account and start a blog.

I'm exploring. I want to see what's out there and learn about places and people.

At first it was kind of a bummer. Some blogs were just empty, a couple were just tirades.

But then I hit on a streak of cool blogs. It seems like a bunch of them were from Kuwait and other places in the Middle East. One was from Russia. It was too cool.

It's neat how so many people from so many different places have the same thoughts about stuff. If you read my first post which is just the lyrics to a song I heard and liked, the questions in that song are kind of the ones I wanted to try to answer. And I did.

For those of you that I visited and who are now going to come here I want to compliment you on how good your English is. I think it is not your native language for many of you, although now I wonder :) but you really "speak" English better than I do, and I'm an American. Great!

I'm jealous. I know a little bit of Spanish (it's kind of a necessity). Some of the blogs had posts in Arabic. Now I want to learn Arabic. I'll be looking in the stores this weekend for language materials.

Thanks for having me as your guest, and if you're reading this, thanks for being mine.

I love living in the desert. I think the desert is such a cool place, even when it's really hot. But blogsurfing has just made my desert a whole lot cooler. Please leave a note and let me know you've been here and what you think.

By the way, here's a picture of my girlfriend. (Use a little imagination; it's not obscene!)

<8)BC=

We just broke up, and I'm actually kind of happy!

Beneath The Blue Sky

By the Go-Go's

Beneath The Blue Sky

Hey over there what's going on
Where I am they say you're wrong
When my sun is setting
Yours is breaking dawn
Say over there I want to talk
I wonder if we think the same thoughts
What do they teach you
How much have you bought
These days I feel too wise
I think we're sharing the same lies

CHORUS
Beneath the blue sky
We're all alone together
The calm hides stormy weather
And if we stand apart
We'll kiss goodbye
Beneath the blue sky

Way over there do you feel it too
In the end there's no privileged few
Everybody wants to live
Their lives through

CHORUS
